Vegan Handbags | Trendy & Stylish Options to Fit Every Budget
No need to sacrifice style just because you’re looking for a vegan purse.
And regardless of your budget, there are options for chic and quality vegan bags across a broad range of prices that will fit almost any budget.
Whether you’re new to the world of vegan fashion and are looking for something inexpensive or are searching for a luxe designer bag, I’ve included options for everyone below.
Vegan purses have come a long way over the years and are even starting to use a variety of alternative leathers from plant waste including apple, mango, cactus, and pineapple.
It’s also possible to buy high-end luxury bags that are not only entirely animal-free but also so chic and well made you’d struggle to distinguish them from animal leather purses.
Keep in mind, this list is only a minor fraction of the vegan purse brands currently available. I’ve intentionally limited my selection to those brands I personally own so I can show you real pictures of me wearing the bags as well as my honest review.
Here’s a quick breakdown to give you a broad overview of the brands I feature and their price ranges.
Brand | Price Range ($) | Price Range (£) | International Shipping |
---|---|---|---|
Peta and Jain | $32 – $103 | £23 – £74 | Yes |
Sans Beast | $40 – $270 | £27 – £195 | Yes |
Melie Bianco | $50 – $165 | £38 – £125 | Yes |
Angela Roi | $195 – $265 | – | No. USA only |
Stella McCartney | $370 – $1,430 | £265 – £1,035 | Yes, free |
Peta and Jain
With most of their bags under $100, this is the most economical choice of the brands I feature. I have their Portia bag, which is a small chain-handle nylon bag (such ’90s vibes that I love) and Gemma, which is a small white bag in faux crocodile.
I absolutely love my Portia bag (pictured above). It can be styled with so many fun outfits, it’s such a cute small size that’s big enough for all your essentials, and you can wear it with two straps (either a small black nylon one, a gold chain one, or with both). It’s like a mini vegan version of the nylon Prada bags from the ’90s.
Alternatively, I bought Gemma from their outlet section for under $20. I honestly should have expected it given the price but I was a bit bummed that the quality was lacking and in person it just looks like an inexpensive purse. The bag is also lined in a cheap plastic material that further detracts from its value. While I’m excited to wear and style Portia, Gemma tends to stay on the shelf.
I’d recommend thoroughly inspecting the photos of anything you intend to buy and know that typically the cheaper something is, the lesser quality it will be (especially for purses within this price range).

Sans Beast
This is one of the first vegan purse brands that I discovered and I was so happy to be the first European customer of this Australian brand. I own more Sans Beast purses than any of the other brands I feature, as they have so many cool and unique styles.
Their purses are super versatile as their straps are removable and can be interchanged between the different styles and even used as a belt as I demonstrated in my 3 White Vegan Sneakers post.
Their bags are thoughtfully designed and a lot of their products include external pouches perfectly sized to fit even larger-sized phones.
The brand’s creator has nearly a decade of experience working with handbags and it clearly shows in her attention to detail and production of superb quality bags.
With their wide range of prices, you’re sure to find something within your budget.
Price Range | $40 / £27 (for sale items) up to $270 / £195 for their large backpacks

Melie Bianco
The one belt bag I have from this brand I really love and despite it being priced on the lower end ($75 / £56) I find its quality to be top-notch.
I love the punchy postbox-red color and its larger size easily holds my phone, wallet, keys, and reusable bags with space left over for a few other small knick-knacks.
The strap isn’t the quickest thing to adjust so it’s easiest to wear it as a crossbody rather than resizing it each time so it can be worn as a hip bag.
This brand has an extensive collection of around 45 different designs and with such a broad price range they’ll work for most people’s budgets.

Angela Roi
I would consider this to be a luxury vegan bag company.
The one bag I have from Angela Roi is made from a lovely pebbled vegan leather, which most of their designs are constructed out of, and I believe that gives them a really high-end look and feel.
I’m so impressed by the quality and style of their bags that I would definitely put them in the luxury category.
All of their designs feel timeless so while they are priced a bit higher than some of the other brands I feature, I would consider any purse purchased from this brand to be an investment piece that can be styled effortlessly from season to season.
They also occasionally run sample sales where you can score some great deals, so that’s something to keep an eye out for if you don’t need something immediately.

Stella McCartney
The most well-known luxury brand offering vegan accessories is Stella McCartney, who has excluded animal leather from her collections since the very beginning. (Please note she does use wool and silk so this is not an entirely vegan brand.)
Stella’s handbags are definitely investment pieces given their high price tag and while I realize this is probably not the best brand for the person who’s just transitioned their wardrobe to be vegan, it’s still one to keep in mind as you grow your vegan pocketbook collection.
My first designer vegan handbag was from Stella (the Black Mini Star bag modeled above) and it remains to be my favorite purse. A couple of the other purses I have from her are the Mini Falabella Box bag (Rooney Mara owns this model) and the Popper bag in camel.
Her pocketbooks are so beautifully constructed and a lot of her designs are timeless, which makes them true investment pieces.
When spending so much on a single bag, it’s best to select a design that will work with the majority of your wardrobe, rather than a style that is currently trending.
You can shop her bags directly on her website or via designer department stores.
While her designs carry high prices, it’s possible to find past-season models that are heavily discounted (via the two website linked below) or used pieces via resale platforms such as eBay, Vestiaire Collective, or The Real Real.
