It might not be the Pantone color of the year, but a quick glance at the street stylers might have you thinking this is the year of green.

Thanks to Bottega Veneta, Kelly green has become a staple shade and with dopamine dressing starting to garner a stronghold in the unlikely country of China, it’s the perfect time to inject some freshness and optimism into your wardrobe with all things green.

Whether that’s in the form of shamrock green Bermuda shorts, a chameleon green work-appropriate suit, or a chartreuse blazer dress, there’s sure to be a shade for everyone’s skin tone and liking.

Keep reading for some green-themed business casual and weekend-ready styling inspiration.

Business casual fit idea #1 | Shamrock green Bermuda shorts + Green button-up

Harmfreefashion models vegan & thrifted fashion (green soprano top, shamrock green vintage Valentino Bermuda shorts, NAE Itaca gladiator sandals, Sans Beast rectangular purse.)

Bermuda shorts are back and a shorts style that’s appropriate for the office.

Go for a monochrome green fit by pairing similar shades of green within the same look (no need to match perfectly).

With all things oversized only seeming to gain momentum, use this simple hack to turn an outsized top into a ’50s-style boxy cropped button-down.

Tuck your shirt in and pull it out enough to create a sharp crease. This gives the illusion that it’s much shorter than it actually is and it’s a great trick to try when wearing button-ups with high-waisted shorts.

Add a chunky cardigan and swap the sandals for socks with penny loafers (here’s my list of the best styles) when the weather starts to turn.

Business casual fit idea #2 | Chameleon green suit + Printed blouse

Harmfreefashion models vegan & thrifted fashion (chameleon green closed pants and blazer, art deco blouse, Oakley shades, vegan heels, Sans Beast rectangular purse.)

Give your (*cough* boring *cough*) black, grey, or navy suit a rest and rock one in an electric green color instead.

Kermit green looks fresh and vibrant when paired with black, so go for a black blouse for a more pared back style.

If you appreciate a loud print, style your colorful suit with a patterned shirt.

The punchy chameleon green and vibrant art deco blouse allow for a seamless transition from day to night.

And if you really want to make a bold impact, shoot for white-framed sunglasses. They’re a minor part of the outfit but they have a huge impact on the entire look.

As the temperature starts to drop, swap the heels for black heeled boots (see my favorites here) or chunky sneakers (I style some cool ones here).

Weekend fit idea | Chartreuse blazer dress + Hot pink belt

So neoncore is officially a thing.

Yes, it’s true. The highlighter hues of the ’80s have returned.

So break out those radioactive shades of green and get ready to take over the weekend.

And as it’s the weekend, pants are optional.

Blazer “dress” more a blazer and less a dress? Do as I’ve done and style it over a bra top and bike shorts if the whole sans pants trend isn’t for you.

Cinch your dress at the waist if you’d like to add shape to a boxy or oversized fit.

Another styling tip is to use a silk-free scarf as a chain for your sunglasses.

To achieve this hack, fold the scarf on the diagonal, twist it, and then tie it to the arms of the sunglasses. The wilder the scarf print, the more quirky this unique necklace will look.

Final Thoughts

The beauty of this color trend is that it’s an easy one for anyone to incorporate. If your preference is army green over key lime, no problem as they all work equally well.
