A classic white sneaker is a wardrobe staple and with everyone sporting either classic Nike’s or Reebok’s these days, some awesome vegan alternatives deserve a chance in the spotlight.

Here, I highlight and style three ultra-cool vegan kicks that are the perfect addition to your spring fashion must-have list.

BeFlamboyant “Nike” Style Vegan Sneakers + Track Pants + Wool-free Plaid Coat

Harmfreefashion models vegan fashion (wool-free plaid coat, thrifted track pants, Stella mini Falabella box bag, Beflamboyant UX-68 white sneakers.)

The first option is the simplest and thus most closely resembles your classic white Nike, Puma, Adidas, or Reebok trainers.

This animal-friendly alternative is made in Portugal by the vegan brand BeFlamboyant. This style is also available in a variety of other color variations but my favorite is this snow-white version.

This trainer is the ultimate choice for those looking for a clean, classic, and chic shoe that will match with almost every outfit.

Try styling them in a high-low fashion by pairing them with track pants, a dressy Prince of Wales check coat, and silver-accented accessories to glam up the overall look. The black tracksuit bottoms make the shoes look fresh and keep the outfit crisp and clean.

The silver-adorned accessories include the “belt” (which is actually a strap from one of my Sans Beast purses that worked so perfectly to cinch in this oversized coat), a Stella McCartney mini Falabella box bag, and a chunky silver-chained necklace that I wore over a half-popped collar after seeing this styling trick from the Proenza Schouler catwalk.

Come spring, I look forward to pairing these sneakers with a floral dress or cropped wide-leg bleach-wash jeans and a striped t-shirt. They’ll also pair so well with the pastels of the season.

Humans Are Vain “Stella” Style Sustainable Shoes + Black Denim + Red ’70s Coat

Next up is this sporty yet fashionable pair of chunky white trainers by the vegan brand, Humans Are Vain, that reminds me of Stella McCartney’s Loop sneakers. I consider these to be a much more affordable version of a Stella shoe but that’s just as cool and well-made, not to mention sustainable.

The red accent on the back gives a playful splash of color and what’s even cooler is that this portion of the sneaker is crafted out of pineapple leather.

If you’re looking for something a bit different, these shoes are also available in a black version.

To style these vegan shoes, I mainly limited the color palette to black, red, and white in order to give them the platform they deserved. I say mostly because I thought it would be fun to add a bit of noble purple to the mix by way of my socks.

Also, loose-fitting black jeans allow the white to appear brighter and by wearing cuffed or cropped denim the sneakers and 🧦 get to be more of a focal point of the outfit.

When the weather gets warmer, I’d love to style these shoes with a lilac dress (as you saw with my sock color choice, I’m a huge fan of the crimson and lilac color combo) or ankle-length grey dress slacks with a cropped hoodie.

This Swedish brand also offers a basic pure white sneaker in both high-top and low-top versions (giving you another great alternative to a classic Nike, Adidas, Puma, or Reebok) as well as a cool black military-style boot. And, to sweeten the deal, my special coupon code, HARMFREEFASHION, will get you 15% off any of these sustainable models. Click here to check out the version I’m modeling.

Fila Vegan Trigate Trainers + Floral Dress + Wool-free Coat

Last but not least, Fila UK finally launched a 100% vegan trainer in a white “dad shoe” design with turquoise accents. Fila has a lot of really popular styles, some with a cult following, so I was thrilled to see them offering a version that’s entirely synthetic. I love the profile-sole and sporty vibe with the slashes of aqua.

It took me a while to embrace the sneakers-with-a-dress look but I’ve finally come around and now I love it. A little styling trick I used here to keep the oversized flowy shape of the dress at bay was by repurposing a men’s striped silk-free tie as a belt. Boom! Instant waist definition and a bit of print clash action. Now that’s how you feed two birds with one scone.

Take this look into spring by ditching the coat and swapping it for an oversized blazer. I could also see styling these trainers with a t-shirt dress and jean jacket once the weather is obliging. For yet another way to style these sneakers check out the “Sporty Spice” look in my Girly, Sporty & Grungy Vegan Accessories post and to shop these plateau trainers here’s a link to Fila’s vegan Trigate.

Final Thoughts

White sneakers are probably as versatile as jeans, which is why they are such a closet essential. Whether you wear them with a dress, trackies, or black denim they are sure to add a sporty yet chic vibe to every look and let’s not forget they allow you to get in all your 10,000 steps for the day in comfort.

And with so many great animal-friendly versions available these days, there’s no doubt you’ll be able to find a pair that suits your style.

With warmer days ahead, I’d suggest shopping early for the best size selection.
